Gordon Martial Arts has hosted five tournaments so far and
preparing for the sixth annual
tournament in Crestview, Florida! First event drew about 200
competitors, judges/helpers, and spectators. The 2005 event doubled
that!
2006 had about 500 total in attendance. 2007 was about the same.
2008 was down a bit with under 400 in total attendance. Still had a
great time and looking forward to 2009! Same great divisions so come be a part!
The tournament is being held again at Davidson Middle School
and very easy to find
with three major road ways (Highway 90, Highway 85, & Interstate 10) coming
through Crestview. We are only 30-45 minutes from the beautiful white
beaches yet inland enough to avoid the touristy pricing.

There will be approximately 84 divisions in sparring, forms,
weapons*, board breaks, self defense, and musical forms* with 4 Grand Champion trophies!
We will combine or eliminate smaller divisions.

*For musical, bring your own music on CD. Musical form may include use of weapon if
you choose. Judges MUST inspect weapon before competition (when your
name is called to compete, present weapon to center judge). No
sharpened blades!
Schedule of Events:
8AM-10AM is registration
9:00AM(ish) will be the start of weapons and musical forms
9:30AM is Black Belt meeting
10AM is national anthem, prayer, & bow in.
Start with Black Belt Adult Forms so they can judge. Then Children's Competition
starts with adults following (normally around 12PM
but may be earlier or later with the self defense divisions)
Please come at the 8AM registration if you're going to
do weapons or musical. The registration line does tend to get long at
times. As always, we want to have the best event possible and try to
keep things running smoothly. |
